WHAT IS HAZARDOUS WASTE? Household hazardous waste is any material discarded from homes which may threaten human health or the environment when disposed of improperly. Check containers for key words: DANGER, CAUTION, WARNING, POISON, CORROSIVE, FLAMMABLE, EXPLOSIVE, OXIDIZER, IRRITANT, HARMFUL, FATAL.
We Accept: • Motor Oil/Oil Filters • Household Cleaners • Weed Killers • Paints/Paint Thinners • Chemical Drain Cleaners • Pesticides & Fertilizers • Used Cooking Oil/Grease • Pool & Hobby Supplies • Household/Auto Batteries • Electronic Waste • TVs/Computers • Fluorescent Light Tubes • Medication/Sharps
We Will Not Accept: • Business Waste • Explosives • Asbestos • Radioactive • Trash, appliances, tires (Contact Burrtec for bulky item pickup) FREE Disposal for City residents: • Up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds • No business waste accepted • Containers may not exceed 5 gallons • All liquids must be contained • No leaking containers • Fontana City residents only
USED MOTOR OIL & FILTERS RECYCLING REQUIREMENTS Free Curbside Pick-Up • Must be a Fontana City Resident. • Call (909) 350-6789 or visit FontanaCA.gov/607/Curbside Used-Oil-Filter-Collection to schedule an appointment or to request a free oil container and filter bucket. • City will collect oil from up to two City-issued containers. • Do not fill containers past fill line. • No leaking containers. • Oil must be free of dirt, debris, and solvents. • Contaminated oil may be dropped off at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Drop-Off • Take to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. • Must bring California ID to verify City residency.
